Koru Professionals have worked in a variety of
areas in ICT.
These have included Financial Services, Tourism,
Charitable Groups, Health Services, Manufacturing, EDI, Accounting,
Retail Sales and Social Services to mention a few.
We believe that working in a large variety of
areas gives us a greater understanding of the ways that ICT can
benefit business, communities and individuals.
Having worked in Content Management, Portals,
VOIP, Instant Messaging, Internet Video, E-Commerce, Online Communities,
Intranets, Extranets, Groupware and Online Collaboration we can
offer the types of services that can bring an organisations users/knowledge/data
to life!
Some of the projects that have been completed
by Koru Solutions are:
- Designed, developed and trained the users in
website management for the Modernising Hearing Aid Services website
www.mhas.info.
This site accompanies the rollout of digital hearing aids across
the UK.
- Network and Software Infrastructure implementation
and training for Foster Caring organisation www.timeforchildren.co.uk.
- Development of Logistics Tracking system for
start-up organisation (Utilising GIS, LBS, SMS and Instant messaging)
www.waypoint-is.com.
- Specification of systems for media management,
deployment, archiving and retrieval for Young
and Rubicam (Budapest and Warsaw offices). This included the
design and specification of an online portal product for archive
retrieval and online collaboration.
- Design, development and implementation of Web
based video conferencing and text based chat service for D/deaf
clubs and schools across the UK. www.vcam.org.uk
- Design, development and implementation of "anything-anything"
i.e. mobile phone - computer IM (instant messaging) system for
the deaf. This uses an opensource IM platform called Jabber
- Web enabled a debt recovery system that allowed
a company to dominate its marketplace www.debtnet.com.au
- Implemented a J2EE portal as a collaborative
groupware product and report delivery mechanism at ORIX.
The portal was called Brio
Portal.
- Implemented an ASP based Content Management
system for the internal publications group at RNID.
This also involved Analysis of requirements, product evaluation,
implementation and training/documentation. The product chosen
for this purpose was Ektron
CMS200.
- Worked with other interested parties
to author IETF
RFC 3351 User Requirements for the Session Initiation Protocol
(SIP) in Support of Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Speech-impaired
Individuals.
- Project managed the set up and handover of
an ISDN based BSL (British Sign Language) Videophone
Interpreting service.
- Developed ORIX Car Centre http://carcentre.orix.com.au/,
a retail vehicles site for ORIX Australia's Fleet Disposals Group.
- Implemented an ASP based factoring financial
services web application https://cts.orix.com.au
for ORIX Australia's Factoring Division.
